The OWCA welcomes Alisha Sullivan as the Emerging Northwest Woman Artist guest speaker at our 2013 Annual Meeting. She is a designer and artist living in Portland, OR, and is currently a Masters candidate in the Applied Craft and Design program at Pacific Northwest College of Art and Oregon College of Art and Craft. Her work includes Art Direction for film and video, environment design and visual storytelling. Her current projects comment on the human body within an environment "by designing physically interactive spaces using furniture-like constructions. These pieces are inspired by unconscious actions and seek to explore rote daily movement through form, dance and movement, and the implied bodily interaction humans have with their built environment.” |
